π¨ LAST CALL: Palmdale Roundabouts Get a Creative Upgrade

Palmdale is blending traffic design with artistic expression in a new city project thatβs calling on local artists to help reshape the look and feel of its streets.
The city is now accepting artist submissions for public art installations that will be featured in upcoming roundabouts along 10th Street East. This unique initiative isnβt just about beautifying the area, itβs about infusing community character into everyday infrastructure, while also improving traffic flow and safety. The deadline for all submissions is tomorrow 9/22!
The goal? Turn ordinary intersections into visual landmarks that reflect the rich culture, diversity, and spirit of the Antelope Valley.
The city says itβs looking for artwork that can represent the local identity. Think vibrant colors, bold structures, and storytelling that speaks to the desert landscape, aerospace history, cultural heritage, and creative energy of the region.
Once selected, the winning artist(s) will have their work installed at key roundabout locations as part of a broader traffic safety enhancement program. Itβs part public safety, part public art, and 100% community driven.
Local artists are encouraged to apply and help shape how Palmdale looks to residents and visitors alike. Itβs a chance to leave a lasting creative mark on the city, one roundabout at a time.

AV Mall Revamp Brings Big Changes to Palmdale

Credit: Jeff Peters
Big things are brewing at the Antelope Valley Mall in Palmdale. Steerpoint Capital has teamed up with Mershops AV Mall for a major transformation thatβs bringing fresh energy, new experiences, and more reasons to visit.
The star of the revamp is the upcoming Round1 Bowling & Amusement, which will take over more than 75,000 square feet with bowling lanes, arcade games, karaoke, billiards, and more. This entertainment hub is set to draw visitors from all across the AV, including Lancaster, Santa Clarita, and Mojave.
The food court is also getting a full refresh with plans to upgrade the dining experience and introduce more modern, crowd-pleasing options.
Thanks to a $5 million public investment approved unanimously by the Palmdale City Council, this project isnβt just a mall makeover. Itβs a major reinvestment in the community, designed to bring new jobs, boost the local economy, and turn the mall into a go-to destination for shopping, food, and fun.
Steerpoint Capital says this is just the beginning of a larger plan to reimagine the mall into a true lifestyle destination for the next generation of AV residents.
The AV Mall has been a staple since 1990. Now, itβs getting ready for a new era and weβre here for it!
